Bertie got a formal letter
In the post with all the rest
Along with bills and circulars
This one was far the best
It came from the “Buck Palace”
Addressed to Bertie Bunny Esquire
To say that he’d been nominated
“Member of the Bunny Empire”
He and his wife were summoned
To attend a right big do
Where he’d receive his medal
And meet some bunny royalty too
They travelled to the palace
All in their Sunday best
Bessie wore a hat to match
Bertie’s brand new vest
He looked a bobby dazzler
And Bessie was so proud
When Bertie’s name was called
And he stepped out of the crowd
He hopped on the red carpet
As proud as punch was he
The very day that he became
Bertie Bunny MBE
