Bertie’s Hideaway

Some of you will remember
For I’ve mentioned it before
That Bertie has a hideaway
Behind a secret door
His dear wife, lovely Bessie
Has been there once or twice
She says “It’s warm and cosy
And very, very nice”
But it is Bertie’s haven
Much like a garden shed
Where Bertie can relax
And simply rest his head
A place for doing woodwork
A place where he can think
A place for peace and quiet
And sometimes a little drink
Bessie likes it when he goes there
And they have some time apart
For Bertie’s little absences
Makes fonder Bertie’s heart
She’s sure that it’s the secret
For keeping their love alive
In their cosy little burrow
With their little bunnies five
