Bertie Goes to the Countryside

Bertie’s country cousin Jasper
Who lives outside of town
Sent Bertie an invitation
Simply saying “come on down”

Now Jasper & Jessica Rabbit
Live on a country estate
With acres of room to entertain
Behind a five barred gate

So Bertie, Bessie and the brood
Set off there Friday morn
They'd got up extra early
Five minutes after dawn

They all hopped out together
Along the country lanes
Through the Greenwood Forest
And across the golden planes

They got there at mid morning
Well before the midday sun
They had a big reunion
And lots of rabbit fun

The little ones played ‘hide and seek’
And ‘catch me if you can’
Whilst the grown ups sat and chatted
About the state of man

The hours passed so quickly
The day seemed far too short
And soon it was the time to go
Bertie & Bessie said they ought

And so our bunny family
Hopped back across the plain
Through the Greenwood Forest
And safely home again.
